Pads wear out first, that is normal. Discs last longer, but a finished pad chews the disc. We check the pads and discs visually, through the wheel or with the wheel off, depending on the car. If pads alone will do it, that is what we tell you. If the discs are scored or worn, we show you, not just tell you.
A soft pedal, or a pedal that slowly sinks, is often not the pads at all. It can be the brake master pump, a wheel cylinder, a leaking hose or air in the lines. We repair and replace the full system, and we stock these parts at our own counter, so hydraulic jobs do not sit waiting for parts either.
